Today in cars not seen around much anymore, an early ‘90s Cavalier Z24.

Kinja'd!!!

White on white on white, with a hint of teal and red. The Z24 badge was neat looking, for sure. Also, proto - flowtie.

This one was displaying an old Conserve Wild Resources license plate. The design with the Saw Whet Owl was available from 1993 to 2000 before being replaced with a river otter.

As this is no newer than 94, plate could be original to the car. Nice find, I prefer pretend sport to the faux aggression or rugged cosplay we have today.  Someone must be cherishing it for it to be like this today, especially in those colors.

That’s a 91-94

I had a black 91 z24. Loved the noise it would make

It’s quite possible that the plate is original to the car. Sleek and simple with a bit of sportiness ( deserved or not ), is refreshing to see on the roads today. It stood out in the parking lot for sure.

It looks to be in amazingly good shape.  The top either is new or has been very well cared for.

The 3.1L and 2.8L were good sounding engines, especially in the Z24s with the different intake setup . My aunt had an ‘89 Z24 which I always thought sounded good.  A friend of mine has an ‘88 Camaro with the 2.8L and it sounds really good, too.

They look way cooler with the square pattern wheels.

Agreed!

Kinja'd!!!

‘88 and ‘89 with the checkerboard center caps were the coolest.

They then changed the center caps to remove the checkerboard pattern for ‘90 :

They then changed the wheels entirely for ‘91 through ‘94 to the ones in the original post.

Can confirm - V6 engines aren’t known for making good noises, but the 2.8 and 3.1 really do sound good.

Very nice! I’ll always have a soft spot for these, partly because my first new car was a sister to the Z24 ( and I bought it the ONE year that there was no Z-24 convertible).

$14.89 on eBay right now .

Amusingly, these appear to have been made in Belgium.  Who knew?

I have a 89 convertible and looking for different parts. I would welcome any help in places where I can purchase parts.

Probably depends on what you’re looking for. Pretty much everything mechanical should be standard Cavalier ( J-Body ) parts. Some of the body hardware is probably unique to the convertibles. What parts , specifically, are you looking for?
